Steve, Terri, and the entire gang at DuWaynes Salon

Madison, WI – Mason R Winter, age 4, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday March 13, 2025 at American Family Children’s Hospital with his mom and dad by his side.

Born on June 14th, 2020 in Madison, WI, the son of Kirsten Winter (Adler) and Cameron (winter). Despite a complex medical history and numerous hospital admissions, Mason continued his fight with immense strength. Mason was an incredibly loved boy who enjoyed snuggles, his projector lights, being outside on his new deck (built by his dad and WDS construction -through make-a-wish), getting on the boat with his family, listening to music, and playing baseball through Miracle League of Dane County. Regardless of his inability to communicate, Mason was able to break barriers and bring people together with a love only a child can provide. He has found a place in the hearts of so many people, a gift that will never go away.

Mason is survived by Kirsten Winter (mom), Cameron Winter (dad), Luke Adler-Slaby (brother), Tammy Adler (nana), Kevin Adler (papa), Curt and Mary Winter (grandpa/grandma), Amanda and Deacon Burghy (Aunt/cousin), Brandon, Seresa, and Jameson Potters (Uncle, aunt, cousin), and Elizabeth Noel (nanny).

Mason’s family is incredibly grateful to the Staff, Nurses and Doctors at UW Children’s Hospital. A special thanks to the following people for their devotion, care and love provided to Mason: Sara Larsen, Nicole Baumberger, Andrew Bigham, Melissa Cercone, Heidi Kloster, Arij Beshish, Melissa Lendborg, and the Complex Care Team at UW Children’s Hospital.

A celebration of life will be had late spring.
